About
Bath Green Open Homes continues to build on the earlier events that took place a decade earlier in 2011 and 2013. Most recent events took place in 2023 and 2024 and included communities in central Bath, Chew Valley, Pensford, Radstock, Peasedown St John. Some 1400 visitors attended these events.
In the face of the climate emergency and rising bills, residents of the open homes shared their knowledge of how measures they’ve used work, which businesses they used, what the process was like, and how much it cost them.
Visitors were be able to see a wide variety of homes, spanning Georgian, listed, Victorian, modern and art deco, showcasing energy saving features including solar panels, heat pumps, wall and floor insulation and biodiverse gardens and vegetable growing. Many open homes also demonstrated effective low-cost DIY measures so visitors with a range of budgets for their own energy saving journey could find inspiration from realistic solutions.
